The Warren Transfer Station provides residents with a safe and convenient location to dispose of household waste, recyclables, and approved bulky materials. Operated by trained staff, the facility helps maintain the health and cleanliness of our community while promoting environmentally responsible waste management.

Who Can Use the Transfer Station?

Use of the facility is limited to Warren residents. Proof of residency may be required. If you're new to town or unsure about eligibility, contact the Town Office at (207) 273‑2421.


Household Trash Disposal

All household trash must be placed in official Town of Warren purple trash bags. These bags are required for use at the transfer station and help fund waste disposal costs.

Purple bag pricing:

  • 35-gallon bags: $6.25 per sleeve (5 bags)

  • 55-gallon bags: $25.00 per sleeve (10 bags)

Bags can be purchased at the Town Office during regular business hours.


What’s Accepted

  • Household trash (in official purple bags)

  • Recyclables including cardboard, newspaper, mixed paper, plastics (#2), and aluminum

  • Brush and yard debris

  • Scrap metal

  • White goods (appliances, must be drained of fluids)

  • Electronics (TVs, monitors, computers, etc.)

  • Construction and demolition debris (fees may apply)

  • Used motor oil

  • Tires and batteries (some limitations)


What’s Not Accepted

  • Hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, solvents, etc.)

  • Asbestos

  • Medical waste

  • Liquids other than used motor oil

Fees

Some items require a disposal fee. A current fee schedule is posted at the facility. Payment by cash or check only.


Recycling Information

Warren encourages all residents to recycle to reduce waste and manage disposal costs. Please sort recyclables correctly and follow posted guidelines. We recycle the following items:

  • Glass food jars and beverage bottles
  • HPDE #2 plastic and rigid plastic
  • Tin Cans
  • Newspapers and Magazines
  • Cardboard (broken down) 
  • Mixed Paper
  • Tires
  • Rechargeable Batteries
  • Plastic Grocery Bags
  • Cell Phones
