A Message From the DOT regarding installation of a flashing beacon Route 235 and Old Augusta Road

The Maine Department of Transportation is planning the Installation of a new flashing beacon, and all way stop at the intersection of Route 235 (Ridge Road) and Old Augusta Road. 

In accordance with Section 106, the MaineDOT reviewed the project area to identify properties included in or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (“historic properties”).

Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 is a requirement for all federally funded projects that may affect historic properties. Under Section 106, the town is considered a consulting party and will receive information on the identification of historic properties.

Per this regulation, I have attached documentation that describes consultation with the State Historic Preservation Commission that determined that no historic properties were identified within the project area and the proposed project will have no effect on historic properties.
