Winter Parking Restrictions
From November 1 through April 1, no vehicles may be parked on any street, road, or public way in Warren between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM, regardless of weather conditions.
Exceptions are made for:
-
Medical personnel and physicians on emergency calls
-
Firefighters and town employees responding to official duties
Vehicles that violate this restriction and obstruct snow removal operations may be towed at the owner’s expense. Towing may be carried out by the Knox County Sheriff's Office or an authorized Town designee. The Town of Warren is not liable for any damages resulting from towing or relocation.
Snow Removal Regulations for Private Plow Operators
Per Maine State Law (MRSA Title 29-A §2396), it is illegal to place or leave snow or slush on any public road that did not accumulate there naturally.
This includes:
-
Pushing or plowing snow across public roads
-
Depositing snow onto roads from private driveways or properties
Violations of this law pose safety risks and interfere with public works operations. The Town will be pursuing active enforcement of this regulation due to ongoing issues.
For questions, please contact the Warren Public Works Department at (207) 273-2421. Thank you for helping us keep Warren's roads safe and passable during the winter season.
