Spring Clean Up at All Cemeteries
Burial lot owners: Please have all fall & winter displays picked up no later than May 15th to allow our mowing contractor to properly clean up the cemeteries after the winter season. Any old fall/winter displays not removed by this date may be removed by the Cemetery Sexton and disposed of. Please do not use glass or ceramic containers at grave sites as these are hazardous to the mowing crews and visitors if broken.
Monument Cleaning at Post and Leonard Cemeteries
The Cemetery Sexton will begin cleaning all headstones/monuments within the two town cemeteries of Post and Leonard starting June 1, 2026. The product used to clean the stones is D2 Biological Solution and water. Any headstone/monument owners who DO NOT want to have their headstones/monuments cleaned MUST put their wishes in writing and send it or drop off at the Town Office - 167 Western Road, Warren, ME 04864 by May 31st. If you wish to be present for the stone cleaning, please call Amanda Shelmerdine, Cemetery Sexton at 207-975-6566 to arrange.
Veterans Monument Clean Up
The Town of Warren and Cemetery Sexton would like to recognize and thank the scouts and leadership of Trail Life Troop 1750, Woodlands Trail for all of their hard work in cleaning up the flower beds at the Veterans Monument in March. Their efforts will certainly be enjoyed by the flowers and townspeople alike!
Town Cemetery Talk & Tour - Saturday June 13th, 2026 @ 10:00 AM
Come on a walking tour of one of the Town's oldest cemeteries, located at the top of Main Street in Warren. We will meet over at the Town Office parking lot before heading into the cemetery. This approximately one-hour tour will review the beginnings of the cemetery, its development and notable townspeople buried within. This event will go on rain or shine.
Tick Treatment at Stahl Cemetery
The Town of Warren will be contracting with Tick Talk, Inc, to spray the cemetery and walk-in areas of Stahl Cemetery starting in mid-April and again at the end of August. The cemetery and entrance at Finntown Road will be posted after each spraying.
Cemetery Committee Member Volunteers Wanted!
Come help out your community by volunteering to serve on the Town of Warren's Cemetery Committee. Each term is for one year, with meetings once a month with the exception of July and December. FMI, please contact our Cemetery Sexton or stop by the Town Office to pick up a volunteer application.
