Stahl Cemetery

Historically known as the Wincapaw Cemetery, the graves here date from the 1820s through the 1880s. Many graves are unmarked or marked with fieldstones, some possibly dating even earlier.

Located in the southwestern part of town, this cemetery is accessed by taking Finntown Road south from Route 1. Pass Nihlo Hill Road on the left, then continue about 200 feet further. Turn right onto a seasonal woods road and proceed approximately 0.3 miles. The cemetery is on the left, about 50 feet from the road, directly opposite a small gravel pit. This is an ancient burial ground and no modern burials are permitted. 

This is a walk-in cemetery only. Visitors should park on Finntown Road and walk down the dirt road to the cemetery. Please do not block the gate, and exercise caution when parking along the road.
