Echo Cove - State of Maine Prison Cemetery

Located near the shore of Copeland Creek, east of the prison farm barracks off Route 97, this cemetery serves as the burial ground for individuals associated with the Maine State Prison.

Established in the 1930s, the site began with the relocation of graves from the original prison cemetery in Thomaston. Today, Echo Cove Cemetery holds 49 known burials, including 9 Veterans.

The cemetery is maintained by the State of Maine with assistance from inmates at the Bolduc Correctional Facility.
